Psychotherapy

Our Psychotherapy deals with feelings of stress, anxiety and low self-esteem in today's society.

What is Counselling and Therapy (Psychotherapy)

Both ‘psychotherapy’ and ‘counselling’ are umbrella terms that are used to describe similar processes.

The process is the client and counsellor set aside time in order to explore difficulties which may include the stressful or emotional feelings of the client.

The act of helping the client to see things more clearly, possibly from a different viewpoint can enable the client to focus on feelings, experiences or behaviour, with a goal to facilitate positive change.
In order to facilitate the counselling process, there are some conditions required.

These include:

A relationship of trust and confidentiality is vital to successful outcomes. The confidentiality policy will usually be explained in the client’s first appointment
Regular consistent appointments at a mutually agreed time and place.

Counsellors and Therapists are highly trained individuals who have completed extensive training to post-graduate level and have usually undergone personal therapy to achieve their qualification. Counselling can be useful for anyone wishing to explore thoughts and feelings further, or individuals experiencing an issue they want to resolve.

Often we choose to speak to a counsellor because it feels easier than speaking to partners/friends/family about personal issues. People often come to counselling with issues that cause them stress or pain. In fact, most issues that cause us anxiety or pain can be explored in counselling.

Feelings of stress, anxiety and low self-esteem are becoming all too common in today’s society. Counselling can offer practical advice for overcoming these kinds of issues as well as allowing you the space to vent your frustrations and feelings.

There are many different models of counselling which may be effective. You may be recommended a specific type of therapy by a doctor or a health professional.

At MindMosaic we offer a number of types of therapy
